Perhaps you don’t have to move past them. When we say something is painful, “pain” is not an attribute of that something but rather an “experience” that we have. So the pain is not out there with the shower, but within ourself (mind).

The moment we realise this, and can see the pain separate from us and not as an inherent part of us, it disappears (or becomes easier to handle). If we can do this, along with it often also comes the realisation that no pain lasts forever.

Whatever we resist, persists. When we stop resisting, the pain stops with it too.
